American Muslims Will Be Burning The American Flag on 9/11

Many people like to the make the argument that Muslims in America belong to a different strand of Islam, far from the radicalism we see overseas in Pakistan, Iran and elsewhere. I beg to differ.

Seeing the global protest of the Koran burning in Gainesville, Florida I decided to head over the the Islamic Thinkers Society website to see what they plan to do. Yep sure enough, I was right. Just announced yesterday by The Islamic Thinkers Society, a Muslim activist group from New York...

The Islamic Thinkers Society will be burning the American Flag on September 11th in response to the international Quran burning day organized by Rev. Terry Jones of the Dove World Outreach Center at 5805 NW 37th St. Gainesville, FL 32653.

...along with this wonderful photograph------->

Wanna see some more from the Islamic Thinkers Society? Test your tolerance, love, and patience by watching this lovely video:

Yes, there are radical Muslims in America. Now, where are all the moderate American Muslims to call out this behavior? I'm waiting.

UPDATE
In response to the Florida church's decision to withdraw from burning Korans, the Islamic Thinkers Society has respectfully and wonderfully decided to not burn the American flag on 9/11 after all. How nice of them!

While we are on this subject, I'd like to make something very clear. I have taken a lot of flak for my supposed "double standard" and intolerance when it comes to my stance on burning Korans vs. burning the American flag. Let me make this very clear. A double standard requires two things to be equal in the first place. Islam, in my view, is inherently evil and a danger to humanity. America is inherently good and a blessing to humanity from its birth. Therefore, burning Korans is acceptable in my opinion, and burning the American flag is wrong. Hope that clears up any confusion you dud liberals have. Thanks!

I was led to your blog by the words "where are the rights of the church to burn the Q'uran?" Is someone trying to prevent them from exercising their rights? Because asking them to reconsider doesn't mean the same thing as preventing them from exercising their rights. You get that, right? Because you sound like you don't.

Also? The Islamic Thinkers Society doesn't represent all Muslims in America anymore than Pastor Whatshisface represents all Christians. It is a fringe group of nutballs similar to that idiot who protests military funerals. So, in your effort to somehow paint the entire Islamic community as flag burning terrorists is a fail.

Keep hate alive!

Cheryl,

You fail in every last letter of every word in your misled and misconstrued comment. First develop your brain and then come back to share your opinion. I'll dumb down everything for you.

1) I pointed out the hypocrisy from those on the left regarding the church burning Korans and their reaction to it by calling it hate speech, intolerance, etc when these same people regard insults against christianity as "free speech". I was pointing out the double standard and in no way assuming these idiots are actually depriving them of their rights. Don't know how you got that one.

2) Did I ever say the Islamic Thinkers Society represents all American Muslims? No. I merely pointed out the fact that there ARE radical anti American Muslims within our borders. Please, quit being so stupid.

Deep down I think you have a deep seeded hatred for everything American, including Christianity, and it shows in your moronic comment. Have fun being on the other side! I'll side with America!

I'm getting a giggle out of that comment. As my mom always told me, a stupid question deserves a stupid answer.

The Koran burning and the mosque-building on a site that is a part of ground zero are both basically the same under the law and in substance: Nobody is taking rights away, but both are unwise and meant to be offensive, both are protected under the constitution, but saying one is OK and the other is not is hypocritical. They're both legal but both wrong. And both of the supposed spiritual leaders doing them are doing them for attention to build their own followership. I refused to support the mosque while at the same time defending its legality for this very reason: I wouldn't condone it from a Christian either. Legal doesn't make right and a jerk is a jerk is a jerk.

I think it says something about our modern Americans that a crowd gathered to watch them disgrace themselves. Can you imagine what would have happened just after World War I or II if ANYONE on the street had tried such a thing?

BUT Christian book burning was ok in the past to Islamic extremists:

Christians in Gaza Fear for Their Lives as Muslims Burn Bibles and Destroy Crosses
Published June 18, 2007

Muslim extremists are focusing their attacks on Christians in Gaza City. Christians in Gaza City have issued an appeal to the international community and a plea for protection against the increased attacks by Muslim extremists.

Father Manuel Musallem, head of Gaza's Latin church, told the AP that Muslims have ransacked, burned and looted a school and convent.. he additionally told The Jerusalem Post that the Muslim gunmen used rocket-propeled grenades (RPGs) to blow through the doors of the church and school, before burning Bibles and destroying every cross they could get their hands on.
