Colleen LaRose and Jamie Paulin-Ramirez: Islamic extremism's new face

When one hears the word "jihad", thoughts of angry young men of Arab descent donning kaffiyeh masks and brandishing AK-47s may come to mind.

No longer.

With the double wammy this week featuring the arrest of the infamous "Jihad Jane" and now the arrest in Ireland of Jamie Paulin-Ramirez with ties to Islamic terrorists the face of Islamic terror has changed altogether.

Both of these women, Americans, appear innocent both in appearances and name. They could be your neighbor, your local store clerk, dental hygienist, waitress, or MSNBC reporter.

I have underestimated the will and capability of Islamic extremism. The tentacles of Islamic fundamentalist terror have breached all barriers.

Islamic extremism is like an ever changing virus, seeking out and attaching itself to people, while poisoning them bit by bit.

What was Paulin-Ramirez's plan? To murder Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks over this drawing.

Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. How can a person come to this?

I used to think I'd seen it all, but the older I get the more I realize that there will always be more. The Jihad chicks? No surprise. Obama a despicable, Marxist, immoral, rotten, lying, cheating, scum-sucking son of Satan? No surprise. America going to hell in a handbasket? Disappointing, but no surprise. The fact that I have become one of the most militant "grannies" around? Nah—no surprise; I'm Irish.
