Ron Paul Supporter Quote of the Day: "I also will vote for Obama."

More insanity from the Ron Paul cult. I now wonder if the percentage of true conservative Ron Paul supporters who care about this country is 2% or 1%. Maybe even less.

"Yes, I will also vote for Obama. It's to show the GOP the same respect they've given Ron Paul in this election. I'm not the only one. I used to believe in voting with my conscience, but, the system is a joke, so might as well treat it as such."

Hack you are right, whoever said that is not a true Ron Paul supporter but rather a member of a cult.

It's about the message, not the messenger and if people can't get over that then they are not true supporters of liberty.

You may disagree with my choice to cast my vote for Gary Johnson (who by the way should be included in you poll) in November but I will not vote vote for Romney just because he is the lesser of 2 evils.

You know Chris, I must say you, Tim at LCR, and perhaps 2 others who regularly comment here, are the only sane, civil Ron Paul supporters I have ever spoken with. The vast remainder are people like I just quoted. Thankfully, most are too young to vote. As a former Ron Paul supporter myself, it's sad to see the message get marred by a complete hijacking of the base. That's exactly what has happened and everyone can see it. The DailyPaul, the so called #1 fan site of Ron Paul, had the gall to actually publish an article encouraging Paul supporters to vote for Obama. Paul supporters defecting to Obama has gone mainstream, and it is a damn shame, yet it doesn't surprise me based on the vast majority of Ron Paul supporters I have had exchanges with.

I believe it's called "cutting off your nose to spite your face."

Thanks Hack.

I think the problem is that many of the younger Paul supporters have bought into the cult of personality just like Barry's acolytes did and are having trouble seeing the forest from the trees.

But with age and experience comes wisdom.

Hi Hack,

I can totally see your point here. At first I thought the "cult" of Ron Paul was simply due to his Constitutional credo and the age of most of his supporters. Some supporters, though, like this guy that is going to vote for Obama (!?!?) truly need their heads examined. I can imagine voting for Johnson -- but Obama? That's just insane and shows this person has no clue about what Paul stands for (limited government and the Constitution). I plan on working really hard in 2016 for Rand Paul; I think that he has all of the great ideas of his father but comes off as more mainstream.

Rand Paul would be awesome! I like much of what Gary Johnson offers as well, in addition to Ron Paul. But the absolute insanity that has taken over the Ron Paul base has really turned me off to him. It is disappointing.

I totally understand that. We all need to listen and learn from each other!

I'm the typical "love Ron Paul's domestic agenda, hate his foreign policy" person.

Paul does attract a lot of OWS types, and Johnson is as well. That is the nature of libertarianism, with liberty being the first principle and everyone free to make their own decisions.

Chris W is right. That bonehead is not a libertarian.

Probably not a Ron Paul supporter either but hack gave him airtime any way. If they nominate Romney they are basically voting for Obama so who gives a rats ass.

Hack,

As you know, I'm a big Ron Paul supporter. I was talking about this very topic with my wife on a lengthy drive this weekend. We both believe in voting your conscience, and we both think IDEALLY, this is the way to change things. However we have a two party system forced on us, so how are we to protest the actions of each party? I think mathematically, a republican voting for Obama to protest the GOP will force more change within the GOP than if the person voted their conscience and went with a third party candidate. This is a different debate than voting for the lesser or two evils because the intent is to usher change in the party they align themselves with, not preserve it. It really does sadden me, but I recognize this is what's happening here, I don't think it's as simple as labeling them as non-conservative.

Are you that Anti-Paul? Who do you support? Perhaps I could go find a quote from a single supporter and then pretend that all his supporters thought the same way. I realize there isn't a chance in hades that you will publish a comment that goes against your grain but the fact is that Obama and Romney, just like the GOP and DNC, are simply two sides of the same big government, nanny state, warmongoring coin. If you support the people handed to you by the media and the parties themselves then you are simply advancing the crumble of our basic rights and liberties in this once great nation. Romney doesn't know what to believe or to think until he adds up who gave him the most money, or until the newest poll comes in. You people call Paul supporters robots and yet it is you sheep who simply repeat the nonsense spewed by talking heads on television without even looking into the facts nor history. Ron Paul supporters, as a whole, are the most educated and freedom loving people I have ever met. You need to get over the red vs. blue, demo vs. repub, donkey vs. elephant mentality and realize that they have divided the people with labels and now do as they wish whether a republican or a democrat is elected. I suppose you support Romney because you know he would let us go broke as long as we are somehow "proteting" Israel. This is nonsense. Even Israel says they can take care of themselves. I say let them do it and quit sending our military to die for others while our country sinks. Did you know we give three times the aid to known enemies of Israel than we do Israel? Does that make sense to you? They don't need our money..and if you support Israel then send them all your money. Funny how you guys support the theft from American people when it is for something you support, but not when you don't support it. No wonder you support flip flop Romney and the establishment puppets. Have a great day in the new Amerika.

I see that you lived up to what I expected from you. If someone has a stance that varies from your view, or doesn't live up to the crazy Ron Paul supporters you like to go on and on about, then those comments don't get published. You really don't want to butt heads with people who aren't either a sheep or purely ignorant do you?

And the comment that the DailyPaul actually published an article getting people to vote for Obama?..what drivel and nonsense. You go find that post and then read the comments. The DailyPaul allows people to post what they think and rarely censors anything. To claim that you gave up on Ron Paul because you don't like some of his more outspoken supporters? Yeah that makes a whole lot of sense. Keep on voting in the norm who will continue to erode our liberties and freedoms simply because you like their sheep like following that is blessed by the GOP establishment. That my friend is worse than cutting off your nose to spite your face...that is cutting off your nose because some stranger doesn't like your face. Purely rubbish and ignorant. EVERY candidate has "special" followers and to judge a candidate by the followers rather than their voting record and ability to stay focused rather than flip flop?? Well to me that is pretty weak and going right along with that herd that's about to dive off the cliffs.

Dale- I am completely anti Ron Paul. For one reason...his supporters.

By the way, I haven't heard a single Santorum, Gingrich, or Romney supporter even hint at voting for Obama. Yet hundreds of Paul supporters on Ron Paul's number one fan page, The Daily Paul, brag about how they will vote for Obama because they are mad Paul didn't win the nomination. Sore losers.

People hate Ron Paul because of one underlying factor. His supporters. That is something that will never change.

Hack said...

Did I hit a nerve Dale? It's ok. Go protest at a Truther rally. I'm sure that will relieve the stress of Ron Paul's primary LAMBASTING.

This is most likely a retort to the controlling attacks by people who blindly follow the Republican Neo Cons who are authoritarian, and not libertarian. "If you vote for Ron Paul, you are voting for Obama." Makes sense to me. I don't care if my vote goes to Obama. I am voting for Ron Paul. When it comes to authoritarian vs. libertarian, libertarian wins. I don't believe in controlling people on social issues (Dem) but I do believe in conservation of our fiscal funds (Rep) But in reality I am neither one of this bullshit two party system. I am free and choose RON PAUL!
