Obama: "If you've got a business you didn't build that!"

Sometimes, Obama can't contain his inner Marx.

Talk about pathetic. If the American public truly understood what Obama's philosophy on economics and government truly meant, he never would have gotten near the White House.

Take it from Professor John C. Drew (pictured below), a former Marxist who was involved with Obama at Occidental College in the 80s.

"Boss and Obama, however, had a starkly different view. They believed that the economic stresses of the Carter years meant revolution was still imminent. The election of Reagan was simply a minor set-back in terms of the coming revolution.  As I recall, Obama repeatedly used the phrase "When the revolution comes...."  In my mind, I remember thinking that Obama was blindly sticking to the simple Marxist theory that had characterized my own views while I was an undergraduate at Occidental College.  "There's going to be a revolution," Obama said, "we need to be organized and grow the movement."  In Obama's view, our role must be to educate others so that we might usher in more quickly this inevitable revolution.

I know this may be implausible to some readers, but I distinctly remember Obama surprising me by bringing up Frantz Fanon and colonialism.  He impressed me with his knowledge of these two topics, topics which were not among my strong points -- or of overwhelming concern to me.  Boss and Obama seemed to think their ideological purity was a persuasive argument in predicting that a coming revolution would end capitalism.  While I felt I was doing them a favor by providing them with the latest research, I saw I was in danger of being cast as a reactionary who did not grasp the nuances of international Marxist theory.

Chandoo let Boss and Obama take the crux of the argument to me.  Chandoo, in fact, seemed chagrined by the level of disagreement in the group.  I cannot remember him making any significant comments during this discussion.

Drawing on the history of Western Europe, I responded it was unrealistic to think the working class would ever overthrow the capitalist system.  As I recall, Obama reacted negatively to my critique, saying: "That's crazy!"

Barack Obama has always been a revolutionary Marxist who hates capitalism and Western colonialism. He just has to tone it down a tad now because he knows the American public will never fully accept his radical world view.

Just remember, Romney and Obama are the same.

  2. Oh PLEASE !! FAUX Takes the comment out of context and you go ... see, see, look over there. Look at the Communist/Marxist.

You want to see the whole clip ... or do you want to bury your head in the preverbial sand?

    Here is the whole clip.

He basically was sayin leading up to that comment, nobody does everything on their own. Business owners don't build the roads and the infrastucture that allow for commerce and business to move, build their products and services. You think that small mom and pop built that road, or put the water pipes in, or built the internet. You are so clueeless. READ BELOW THEN DECIDE ...

Conservatives Selectively Edit Obama’s Speech To Claim He Hates Small Businesses

Of course, Obama’s supposedly insulting comment is somewhat different in context. The full text of his speech, rather than denigrate small business, challenged the idea that wealthy and successful individuals have never benefited from government programs:

ACTUAL QUOTE: I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own.

Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together." END QUOTE

Without the context, Obama’s point that individual effort is bolstered by community systems is completely lost. The idea is nothing new; Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) made very similar comments that went viral in September of last year. Indeed, far from denigrating small business owners, Obama has cut taxes on small businesses 17 times.

  3. Drop dead dirtbag. I mean it. I watched the whole speech. Don't blame me for your intellectual impairment. You obviously have one. Or are you just sympathetic to Marxism? You make me sick. You are no longer welcome here and all of your comments will be deleted. I don't tolerate sheer stupidity here!

  4. You know the left will tried to twist this any way they want to. Also he is repeating a talking point from Elizabeth Warren (you know the 1/32 Native American). He cant even think of anything original. He doesn't care about the American people, when he says thing like this or "they just want to cling to their guns and bibles"...

  5. I have guns and a Bible. That has nothing to do with Context. Romney's campaign handlers have said it's the art of marketing.

Really we all know what it really is ...BS!

It's like 60% of doctors smoke Camel Brand Cigarettes. When the health concerns of cancer, asthma and lung disease started to reveal itself back in the 60's and 70's from smoking. You know I'm not buying what your selling.

You can swallow that Cool Aid though.
