A Christmas message

While I have been absent in recent weeks from blogging and braving the tempest of politics on here, I thought it would be a good idea to give a much needed Christmas message this Christmas Eve.

What has this country come to? Every Christmas season our country becomes obsessed with materialistic desires, political correctness, and the secularization of a Christian holiday.

We are bombarded with news stories involving the prohibition of the Christian themes related to Christmas; atheism sucking the very fiber out of the holiday like a leech on the skin.

While Christianity-hating atheists do their best, and most often succeed in our weak society, to discredit the real meaning of Christmas, an almost worse trend has arisen.

Stuff. Stuff. And more stuff. Holiday spending is at an all time high this year. Christmas ads are so pervasive it's almost vomit inducing, enticing people to spend their way to happiness this year, and spend beyond their means.

People need to realize Christmas is not about gifts. It's not about reindeer, Santa, conifers, candy canes, or even Bing Crosby's White Christmas.

It's about the birth of Jesus and the gift he brought humanity, period. That should be at the forefront of everyone's mind this holiday season.

And while the previously mentioned things make for a magical holiday, the absolute gift of Jesus to the world is of much greater value, and that is something that the atheists, the tinsel, the mistletoe, and even the presents from loved ones cannot match.

Have a safe, and Blessed Christmas friends!

Vikings punter Chris Kluwe whines about playing conditions.

Tonight's showdown between the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings promises to be an epic, classic battle that will be talked about for years to come.

Bears. Vikings. Outdoor football. Minnesota. December. A forecast calling for 6 more inches of snow as I speak one hour prior to kickoff.

This is football!

What wasn't included in that list? Vikes punter Chris Kluwe complaining the conditions and the field are too dangerous. This coming from a man who makes over a million dollars a year, including receiving 1.7 mil just for signing, to kick a ball for a living! Of course, his wimpy ramblings came in the form of a tweet, in an all too common reminder of our disconnected, weak society of twits.

Sit back Chrissy and let the real men play. I will be looking forward to this matchup!

Oh, Go Bears!

Al Sharpton proposes totalitarian government takeover of talk radio.

Al Sharpton is at it again, this time throwing a revolting temper tantrum in which he proposes the government take conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh off the air.

"Rush Limbaugh has the right to say whatever he wants to say, he does not have the right to do it on the public regulated airwaves," Sharpton told Ed Schultz.

Then neither should you! What an irrelevant, little man the "Reverend" is. Do people even listen to him anymore? It is amazing a person can make a living out of stirring up racial strife, then pointing the finger at the other guy. Al Sharpton is a destroyer. It's what he does. Everything he touches he pollutes, including the black community who supports him. He binds them in the chains of government dependence, victimization, and economic entitlement with every last poisonous word that comes out of his mouth.

I'm going to give liberals the benefit of the doubt and say not all of them support this slimebucket or his fanatical and immature notions of silencing the opposition through force. But these ridiculous ideas are coming from the left, and that should not be ignored. Reminds me of a time not too long ago when Rosie O'Donnell proposed the United States government seize British Petroleum because Mother Earth was "hemorrhaging". What preposterous nonsense.

I'll be waiting for those on the left who strive to stand for peace, love, tolerance, and "reaching across the aisle" to shoot down Sharpton's inane squabbling and soiled britches over a political adversary he has neither the brains nor guts to debate.

Somehow, I don't expect to hear much.

DHS urges citizens to conduct anti-terrorism at Walmart. The floodgates have been opened...

Janet Napolitano's inept Department of Homeland Security is now rolling out a new campaign, which I'm sure you've already heard about, targeting Walmart shoppers.

The 'If you see something, say something' campaign is plastered all over at various Walmart stores, and encourages you, the citizen, to report anything you see as suspicious while doing your shopping at Wally world.

Adrienne over at Adrienne's Catholic Corner already beat me to the punchline.

This could get ugly, no pun intended. Well, actually it was.
A possible Islamic militant/Chronicles of Narnia centaur?

Heavy laden with explosives. Reported.

Suspicious? You decide...

I cannot think of that bulge being anything other than a suicide bomb, then again I don't want to think about it at all.

Wikileaks' anti-American agenda, and the people who support them.

It isn't hard to look at the top secret materials Wikileaks chooses to release as a whole and realize Julian Assange and company have an obvious anti-American agenda. Specifically, an agenda against the American military and our efforts in the war on terrorism.

I noticed this months ago with Wikileaks' release of the infamous 'Collateral Murder' video showing US troops killing Iraqi civilians suspected of being insurgents. This was back in April.

Today, we witness the coward and sex criminal Assange and his cohorts releasing thousands of top secret American documents, including most recently a list of key places of interest we have listed as vital to American national security.

Julian Assange may be Australian. But he is acting as a military combatant against the United States, and his weapon of choice is not an AK-47 or RPG, but the internet, and he is utilizing his resources effectively. He should be treated as such, brought in, tried, convicted, and punished accordingly.

While Assange is defaming America and putting American lives at risk, there are the usual people supporting his actions. Over at the enlightened liberal Daily Kos, we see praise for the "brilliant" Assange as somehow being a champion of freedom. We have the typical liberal response that Wikileaks is simply doing its part to create a more transparent and pure democracy. And Ron Paul, the anarchist who does not, nor will ever, have the support of this libertarian, thinks Julian Assange is doing America a service and should be supported at all costs.

Let's be frank. Liberals love Wikileaks because they make America look bad. They expressed outright glee over the release of documents depicting American war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan. And they are as giddy as ever now with the release of more harmful information. And Ron Paul, that treasonous turd, will never get my vote.

Homosexuality is no longer a societal taboo.

Nearly everywhere I look anymore someone is trumpeting the homosexual agenda, whether it be a moronic reporter, a military general testifying before Congress, an entertainment "artist", or a subtle (or sometimes not so subtle) magazine ad.

In a world where economic collapse of our nation is imminent, Islamic terrorism continues to be a real threat, and international relations and alliances are in a continual phase of conflict and change due to the aforementioned factors, homosexuality shouldn't even be an issue.

Yet, almost daily, I'm met with homosexual news. Most obviously, the current debate about Don't Ask Don't Tell.

Let's get something straight. We are in a time of war. Our soldiers are dying on the frontlines. Yet, our military "leadership", all the way up to the Secretary of Defense, thinks it pertinent to devote much of their time to abolishing a policy on homosexual soldiers which we have never had a problem with, and a policy in my opinion that is spot on.

DADT does not prohibit gays from serving. It makes it so they don't openly make their sexual orientation an issue in the ranks. What's wrong with that? It protects the homosexuals in my opinion. But nevermind that. Today's left wing culture warriors demand gays be treated as if they were straight. They like to pretend that the fact homosexuals turn the natural into the unnatural, is absolutely nonexistent. Typical leftist abandon of reason and cold, hard, fact!

My view on homosexuality is this. It is disgusting. It is backwards. It is against the laws of nature. Gays can do whatever they want with themselves. It's none of my business! And it's none of the government's business....UNTIL you broadcast it to the world and make it the sole identifier of yourself! I have no problem with a homosexual who keeps it to themselves and goes about their business. What I do have a problem with are the militant gays who demand homosexuals be treated as if they weren't homosexual. Because that's exactly what they are doing.

Like the title says. Homosexuality is no longer a taboo in 2010 America. In fact, if you watch the media, listen to popular music, or read magazines you might actually think our society prefers it. (Gasp! What a surprise.) I turn on the local news and see a story about civil unions being made legal in my home state, complete with footage of two males in passionate embrace. Oh how sweet! I'm so happy for them! Next, I flip to the national news and find a left tilted story covering the DADT debate. Disgusted, I turn off the TV and open a magazine only to be met with an ad featuring two women disgustingly mouthing each other. Has this country gone mad?

It shouldn't even be talked about. The mere fact our very own military leadership has succumbed to the homosexual mafia's desires while we are in the middle of a war is a testament to just how far our society has fallen.

Atheists claim reason this season by attacking historical fact.

Often I find myself wondering how in the world atheism passes as a more "intelligent", "scientific", and "reasonable" alternative to belief in intelligent design, a higher power, or God.

Atheists love to attack organized religion, Christianity especially, as being an ideology of fairy tales followed by a group of stupid, uneducated, unreasonable people.

We see this come to a head every Christmas season with relentless attacks on nativity scenes, school programs, and general professions of faith. Here is an example of the latest atheist attack on the Christian faith during Christmas time.

The latest atheist billboard above in New York City.

"This season celebrate REASON!"

Yes, let us celebrate reason shall we?

Too many times I find atheists to be without question the most unreasonable people of all, many times refusing to accept the fact Jesus Christ even existed or was crucified 2000 years ago. No amount of intellect, college education, big words, or placement of glasses below the eyes can account for such inane stupidity.

Let me get to the elephant in the room.

Fact: Time, Space, Matter, and Life all exist.

Where did it come from? A higher power or God? Or did it just become itself from absolutely nothing? Which is more reasonable?

To look at our universe and absolutely refuse to believe it was the result of intelligent design is beyond unreasonable. It is a very insult to your intelligence. To surmise that our incredibly complex world, and all the life in it, came from a long string of chemical accidents, or total chance, is backwards, bleak, and downright scary. Above all, it makes no sense.

I am here not only to argue for the case of intelligent design, but for Christianity.

Historical evidence proves the existence of Jesus. Historical evidence also proves the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

Before I give you historical evidence think about this. If Jesus Christ was never crucified and rose from the dead, would it make sense that millions of people in the Roman Empire in the ensuing decades chose to worship him to the point of horrible torture and death and continue to to this day? Use your reason now...

Think of the 12 disciples. They spent their entire adult lives following Jesus. Listening to him teach. Witnessing his miracles. Each one of them, except for John, died some of the most excruciatingly painful deaths one could imagine because of their commitment and faithfulness to Jesus after he was crucified. Why would they go to such lengths if Jesus had not risen from the dead? What's more, why would they lie and write about it? Reason now...

Napoleon Bonaparte said...

"I know men and I tell you that Jesus Christ is no mere man. Between Him and every other person in the world there is no possible term of comparison. Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I have founded empires. But on what did we rest the creation of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ founded His empire upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for Him."

He was absolutely right. This is what separates Jesus from every other historical figure in history, including Mohammad. And it is what separates true Christianity, a spiritual relationship not a religion, from all of the world's organized religions.

Said Thomas Arnold of Oxford, "I have been used for many years to study the histories of other times, and to examine and weigh the evidence of those who have written about them, and I know of no one fact in the history of mankind which is proved by better and fuller evidence of every sort, to the understanding of a fair inquirer, than the great sign which God hath given us that Christ died and rose again from the dead."

Scottish scholar Frederick Fyvie Bruce said, "If the New Testament were a collection of secular writings, their authenticity would generally be regarded as beyond all doubt."

Brooke Foss Westcott, an English scholar, said: "raking all the evidence together, it is not too much to say that there is no historic incident better or more variously supported than the resurrection of Christ. Nothing but the antecedent assumption that it must be false could have suggested the idea of deficiency in the proof of it."

And have you ever heard of Simon Greenleaf? A professor of law at Harvard and an expert on evidence, he was also an agnostic who sought to disprove the validity of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. He wrote a book called An Examination of the Testimony of the Four Evangelists by the Rules of Evidence Administered in the Courts of Justice. In it he came to the confident conclusion...

"it was IMPOSSIBLE that the apostles could have persisted in affirming the truths they had narrated, had not JESUS CHRIST ACTUALLY RISEN FROM THE DEAD, . . ."

How about Flavius Josephus? He was a secular historian in the Roman Empire around the time of the crucifixion. He wrote, "When Pilate, upon the accusation of the first men amongst us, condemned [Jesus] to be crucified, those who had formerly loved him did not cease [to follow him], for he appeared to them on the third day, living again, as the divine prophets foretold, along with a myriad of other marvellous things concerning him."

The authenticity and historical accuracy of the Bible is as solid as any other historical document. To dismiss the existence of God, and the truth found in the Bible is as unreasonable as it gets. To refuse belief in the Bible is to believe its entire message from cover to cover is one elaborate, well planned out hoax spanning thousands of years. Reasonable? I think not.
