As the crowds cleared for the night, a chaotic scene erupted on South Broad Street, near City Hall. Viewer video, obtained exclusively by Action News, shows an unruly crowd of young people flooded into the streets. Police rushed to the scene.
Jay Ingersoll captured the home video. Jay explains to Action News, "We left the fireworks probably not even five minutes into [the show]... and we left and we walked down Chestnut Street. And we got to 15th and Chestnut and we heard 'Flash mob, flash mob, flash mob!'"
He said he saw fights breaking out, people getting punched as police moved in to try and make arrests.
Here is the video.
I knew it was almost, if not all, entirely black before I even watched the video. Why is this? Is it because I hate black people? Of course not. Just today I listened to the marvelous Herman Cain sub for Sean Hannity while washing my car. He thrashed an ignorant caller who compared blacks who respect Thomas Jefferson to Jews who respect Hitler. There are plenty of level headed, civil black folks out there. But why, why on earth are the inner city blacks so violent? It's evident in every urban area in America. Is it genetic? Is it environment? It's something that needs to be addressed in this country. Urban thuggery like this is ruining the black race in America whether you want to believe it or not. Someone must say it. Where are the Bill Cosbys and Thomas Sowells today? Instead we have the likes of Barack Obama and Lil Wayne.

Despite their claims to the contrary, I feel that most politicians lump blacks in with white trash and go the "bread and circuses" route of appeasing them. After so long, trash of any color think they are entitled to such things and riot out of sheer boredom. The white trash segment has no race card to play when they get caught, so they don't get so extreme in their behavior. A bit over-stated and simplistic, perhaps, but I think there's a lot of truth in it.
It's certainly not genetic. This is the results of years of cultural Marxism. The great society took hard working black families from the farms to government housing in the inner cities. But, the damage was not as much the geographic relocation as it was the occupational vacuum. It is hard to have dignity and self respect when you are a slave to the dole.
