Federal stimulus money at work in my town.
How is the stimulus affecting my neck of the woods? Picture 15 straight miles of road construction on a perfectly adequate highway looking something like this...

In my area, the transit authority literally had the money in the bank to buy several new buses. However, they got a windfall from Uncle Sam (you and me to be more precise), so they bought their buses with THAT money and saved their own. Exactly how did THAT creat any new jobs?
Did they put up one of those damned signs about "This project brought to you by your benevolent dictator"?
